Powell River is the furthest point we serve and the only one that involves a ferry, which changes how a project runs rather than what gets built. Materials come up in planned loads and crews come up for full stretches of work, so the schedule is agreed properly before anything is ordered.
Atlas Sun Systems has been building outdoor structures since 1987, out of our shop in Langley. Powell River has been on our map for years, and the way we run work up the coast is built around getting it right in one visit.

Planned around the crossing
A ferry is not a delay if it is designed into the plan. Fabrication finishes before anything moves, materials travel in one load, and the crew comes up for a continuous run rather than commuting — which is how a coastal job stays on its dates.

Coastal air is hard on fixings
Salt air goes after fasteners and finishes long before it touches the aluminum. Powell River structures get specified with that in mind, because the part that fails first on the coast is rarely the part people worry about.

Exposure off the water
An open coastal lot takes wind with nothing in front of it. Post spacing, footings and uplift restraint follow from the exposure of your particular site, and retractable screens get sensors so a gust finds them already up.

One visit, properly measured
Because we are not dropping in next week to check something, the site measure has to be right the first time. We take the extra time on that visit — it is cheaper than a second crossing for a bracket.
