Why people here call us
Agassiz is farm country, and the outdoor spaces we build here are working ones — a covered area to get out of the weather between jobs, somewhere to eat that does not need packing up when it rains, shade over a deck that faces a lot of open sky. The lots are large and the structures can be too.
We have been designing and installing outdoor structures since 1987, and Agassiz sits at the far eastern end of the area we cover from our Langley shop. It is a longer run, so we plan the work in fewer, fuller visits.

These are the things that change the design before anyone talks about colours and finishes.

Real snow load
Winter east of Chilliwack is not coastal winter. Snow sits, and it sits heavier than it does in Vancouver, so an Agassiz roof is engineered to a higher load than the same structure on the coast — more purlins, closer posts, and a slope that sheds rather than collects.

Long open spans
Rural lots do not force a compromise on size the way a city lot does. Aluminum carries a long span on relatively few posts, which is what makes a large covered area over a patio or a working yard possible without a forest of columns through the middle of it.

Open sky, both ways
With no neighbouring houses shading the yard, an Agassiz patio takes full sun in summer and full rain in winter. Which roof is right depends on which of the two you are actually trying to solve, and we would rather ask than assume.

Scheduled in fewer trips
Agassiz is the long end of our run, so we do not stretch a job across a month of half-days. Measuring, delivery and install are planned as a small number of full visits, and you know the dates before we start.
